Strengths

• The curriculum is “well-sequenced,” with staff possessing “secure subject knowledge” who effectively model ideas and address misunderstandings.
• Reading is “prioritised highly,” with trained staff providing catch-up activities that help pupils become “fluent and confident readers.”
• Writing and mathematics have improved, with pupils producing “more accurate and confident writing” and mastering mathematical concepts more securely.
• Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are quickly identified and receive “precise” adaptations, enabling them to achieve well.
• Behaviour and attendance are strong, with pupils being “ready, respectful and safe” and attendance remaining in line with the national average.

Areas to improve

• In some subjects, the school does not check how well pupils have remembered previously taught knowledge, meaning misconceptions are not always identified and pupils do not achieve as well as they could.
