Strengths

• Pupils "engage well with their learning" and speak appreciatively of the opportunities to learn and play.
• The headteacher and governors work effectively with partners to ensure the curriculum is relevant to the community.
• Teachers provide a "wide range of exciting and varied learning experiences" and monitor progress carefully.
• Vulnerable pupils and those with additional learning needs make good progress through targeted interventions.
• The school’s approach to developing "health and well-being is a strength," with staff addressing issues quickly through effective communication.

Areas to improve

• Teachers must improve marking and feedback to ensure pupils have a "clear understanding of their next steps in learning."
• The school should strengthen opportunities for pupils to apply their "numeracy and digital skills across the curriculum" at a suitably high level of challenge.

Safeguarding

The report states that staff know pupils and their families well, ensuring through effective communication that any issues arising are addressed quickly and that relationships are mutually beneficial.
