Overview

Strengths

• The development of “Welsh language skills is a strength,” with many pupils speaking Welsh spontaneously.
• Staff in observation classes “identify their next steps for learning and support them effectively.”
• Visits and visitors provide “authentic and engaging learning opportunities.”

Areas to improve

• Leaders and teachers do not consider well enough “how the areas of learning will work together in their thematic planning.”
• Teachers, particularly for the youngest pupils, have not considered well enough “the effectiveness of the learning environment.”
• Pupils do not always have sufficient opportunities to apply mathematical knowledge to “problem-solving activities.”
