Leaders have successfully improved the curriculum and reading provision since the previous inspection, ensuring pupils learn knowledge in a sensible order and become confident readers. The school prepares children well for the next stage of their education through a wide array of clubs and acts of service.

Strengths

• Pupils learn to be kind, care for each other, and value differences, creating a welcoming community where SEND pupils are supported to learn alongside peers.
• Curriculum plans are well organised, with teachers delivering content consistently and providing effective support when pupils misunderstand concepts.
• Reading instruction has improved significantly, with staff precisely modelling expression and helping pupils develop sophisticated vocabulary.
• Leaders and governors hold each other to account effectively, using precise information to monitor the school’s quality and support staff well-being.
• Attendance has improved markedly, and pupils speak confidently about different faiths and maintaining healthy lifestyles.

Areas to improve

• Staff must ensure they have the subject knowledge needed to plan and deliver the entire curriculum free from misconceptions, which currently hinder pupils’ understanding in some areas.
• Staff must ensure that pupils, including children in Reception, remain focused on learning to prevent parts of lessons from being less productive than they could be.
