Crossroads Primary School

Overview

Inspectors visited Crossroads Primary School in May 2025 and found a school with a "positive ethos and culture" that helps children "learn and flourish." The report evaluates both "Learning, teaching and assessment" and "Raising attainment and achievement" as "good," noting that the school has the capacity to continue improving without further inspection visits.

Strengths

• The acting headteacher has established a supportive environment where staff "work well together to make improvements to children’s learning experiences and support their wellbeing."
• Children are described as "polite and motivated to do their best," working collaboratively to support one another in play and learning.
• Staff engage in "useful professional learning" and provide differentiated instruction, which helps children "make good progress in their learning."
• Pupils participate in a "wide range of worthwhile activities, trips and outdoor learning experiences" that help them develop "valuable skills for learning, life and work."

Areas to improve

• Staff should "continue to streamline and implement approaches to planning children’s learning" to help pupils build on existing skills across all curricular areas.
• Staff should "continue to improve processes for assessing and tracking children’s progress and attainment" to evidence improvements more clearly.

Safeguarding

The report states that staff work closely together to "support their wellbeing" within a positive culture, though it does not provide a separate detailed evaluation of safeguarding procedures.
