Strengths

• The curriculum has undergone "vital improvements," with careful attention to progressive knowledge building and a strong focus on reading to develop "confident and fluent readers."
• Pupils enjoy a "vibrant and inclusive" community with a "tangible sense of belonging," supported by an engaging 'options programme' and leadership roles.
• Behaviour is a strength, with staff skilled at managing unsettled behaviour, fostering a "close-knit school community."

Areas to improve

• Some pupils do not attend school regularly enough, causing them to "miss out on essential learning and vital school experiences."
• In a few subjects, the school does not use its subject expertise effectively enough, meaning "some pupils do not learn as well as they could."
• Trustees have not provided enough challenge over time, though they are taking action to address this.
