Check the area around this school
25th of 156 primary schools in Bradford we can score, 157 in total — the rest without enough published data. Local and same-phase on purpose: a national table mostly measures who attends.
Narrow the comparison to the 2,153 schools whose pupils have similar backgrounds — a tougher field — and it places 6.3/10 among them, against 7.8/10 nationally. Both figures are results only, without the inspection grade. A lower figure here means a stronger comparison group, not a weaker school.
How this is worked out
| Measure | Percentile | Weight | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Expected standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 73.0 · 73 | 40% | 2.93 |
| Ofsted | 52 | 35% | 1.82 |
| Higher standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 16.0 · 85 | 25% | 2.13 |
Each measure is read as a position among comparable schools, so a school in the middle of the country scores 5. Full method.

Worth asking on a visit
Since the similar-intake comparison shows a lower score than the national average, what specific strategies are in place to support pupil progress? How does the after-school club integrate with the main curriculum to support learning?
What Ofsted said about Eldwick Primary School
Overview
Eldwick Primary School continues to be a good school, where pupils enthusiastically engage in an ambitious curriculum designed to prepare them for life in a diverse world. Despite facing significant structural challenges due to the discovery of RAAC, leaders have ensured that pupils have not lost a day of learning, maintaining high expectations for both knowledge and behaviour.
Strengths
- Pupils achieve well across the curriculum, with "extremely high" outcomes in reading, writing and mathematics, supported by a curriculum that builds logically over time.
- Teachers are "knowledgeable and enthusiastic," effectively addressing misconceptions in core subjects and ensuring pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the full curriculum.
- Behaviour is excellent, with pupils being "polite and friendly," while bullying is rare and dealt with "quickly and effectively."
- Phonics instruction is delivered with "enthusiasm and precision," allowing pupils who fall behind to catch up quickly.
- Attendance rates are high, with leaders working closely to support families and reduce persistent absence.
Areas to improve
- In some foundation subjects, assessment is not fully developed, meaning teachers do not always identify and respond to misconceptions as fully as they do in core subjects. Leaders should ensure their approach to assessment in these subjects is fully implemented.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
