Endeavour Academy Bexley

Overview

Endeavour Academy Bexley continues to be a good school where pupils enjoy lessons and feel safe. Leaders maintain high expectations, helping students who often start with difficult educational histories to make progress in learning and manage their emotions effectively.

Strengths

• The curriculum is well sequenced, focusing on academic skills and life skills like resilience, preparing pupils well for college.
• Staff possess strong subject knowledge and a deep understanding of pupils’ special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
• Teachers make lessons interesting and relevant, while adults deal with any unkind behaviour in a "consistent and calm way".
• Pupils benefit from a wide range of enriching experiences, including residential trips, therapies, and "very popular dog mentoring".
• Leaders and governors know the school well, and staff appreciate the "improving consistency of policies and processes".

Areas to improve

• Leaders should make "meaningful links between subjects" to better support pupils’ social and emotional development, as these connections are not currently explicit across all areas.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective, with leaders taking a "rigorous approach" and staff noticing straight away if anything is wrong with a pupil.
