Check the area around this school
217th of 391 primary schools in Essex we can score, 444 in total — the rest without enough published data. Local and same-phase on purpose: a national table mostly measures who attends.
Narrow the comparison to schools whose pupils have similar backgrounds and it does better still — 5.7/10 against 2,194 of them, against 4.6/10 nationally. Both figures are results only, without the inspection grade. A lower figure here means a stronger comparison group, not a weaker school.
How this is worked out
| Measure | Percentile | Weight | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Expected standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 62.0 · 44 | 40% | 1.74 |
| Ofsted | 52 | 35% | 1.82 |
| Higher standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 7.0 · 51 | 25% | 1.27 |
Each measure is read as a position among comparable schools, so a school in the middle of the country scores 5. Full method.

What Ofsted said about Eversley Primary School
Overview
Eversley Primary School has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection. The school fosters a nurturing and inclusive community where pupils thrive personally and academically, living up to values of kindness and bravery. Leaders set high expectations for achievement, including for disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Strengths
- The curriculum is ambitious and carefully designed, with teachers demonstrating secure subject knowledge and presenting information clearly.
- Pupils with SEND are well supported through precise identification of needs and meaningful adaptations that allow access to the same curriculum as peers.
- Reading is a priority, supported by a comprehensive programme and effective phonics instruction that provides timely support for those at risk of falling behind.
- Enrichment activities, known as ‘Eversley Endeavours’, build character and resilience, with pupils enjoying clubs and challenges that push them “out of their comfort zone”.
- Staff well-being and workload are managed thoughtfully, resulting in low staff turnover and a positive culture where staff are “proud ambassadors”.
Areas to improve
- Staff must provide more precise guidance to help pupils develop deeper knowledge and address misconceptions consistently, particularly in reading comprehension and fluency.
- In some subjects, teachers do not extend pupils’ understanding sufficiently, meaning complex ideas and vocabulary are not explored in depth.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
