Keser Torah Boys' School

Overview

This progress monitoring inspection confirms that Keser Torah Boys’ School “meets all of the independent school standards that were checked.” Following a previous judgement that the school did not meet standards, the report states the school has acted with “appropriate urgency and rigour” to address deficiencies. Consequently, the school is now “well placed to meet the standards consistently over time.”

Strengths

• Leadership and management have improved significantly, with governors now holding leaders to account effectively through regular meetings.
• The school has established a “comprehensive, well-sequenced and age-appropriate PSHE curriculum” that meets statutory guidance for relationships education.
• Pupils now receive sufficient teaching on “fundamental British values,” protected characteristics, and different faiths and cultures through weekly lessons and assemblies.
• Staff have received training in a new behaviour management approach, allowing them to deal with “low-level disruption more effectively.”
• The school has introduced new opportunities for pupils to develop talents, including a school choir and magazine.

Areas to improve

• The report identifies no significant areas for improvement, stating the school now meets the previously unmet requirements.

Safeguarding

Inspectors confirmed that the school’s safeguarding arrangements, including the single central record of pre-employment checks and the availability of the safeguarding policy to parents, meet the requirements of the independent school standards.
