Strengths

• Pupils receive “high-quality teaching, underpinned by an innovative use of resources” and benefit from opportunities to socialise through day trips and physical meetups.
• Staff know pupils “extremely well,” ensuring they feel “safe, secure” and supported, which helps rebuild confidence for those with social, emotional, or mental health needs.
• The curriculum is broad and inclusive, with teachers having a “secure understanding” of subjects and adapting teaching to meet individual aptitudes and interests.
• A “structured and impartial careers programme” supports pupils’ next steps through close relationships with universities and employers, alongside virtual and real-life work experiences.
• Leaders promote British values and a global learning community, with pupils actively participating in democratic activities and leadership roles such as school councillors.

Areas to improve

• Plans for the physical aspects of the curriculum, particularly physical education at key stages 3 and 4, are “not yet as well defined as those for other subjects.”
• Some pupils expressed a desire for more opportunities to socialise with peers virtually outside of lessons and co-curricular clubs.
