Lhanbryde Primary School

Overview

The inspection team found that children are “welcoming, respectful, kind and caring,” supported by “positive, trusting relationships” that foster a strong sense of belonging. While staff collaborate effectively to support individual learning needs, the report identifies significant concerns regarding curriculum breadth and overall attainment. Consequently, the school requires additional support and will undergo a further inspection within 12 months.

Strengths

• Children demonstrate positive attitudes, with relationships across the community supporting their sense of belonging.
• A collaborative staff team carefully considers children’s strengths and needs, leading to improvements in classroom practice.
• High-quality support and planned interventions are provided for children facing challenges or barriers to learning.

Areas to improve

• Senior leaders must ensure children receive their entitlement to a broad general education across all curricular areas.
• Senior leaders and staff should work together to improve the progress and attainment of all children.
• The school must ensure equitable opportunities for wider achievement activities, which are systematically tracked and monitored.

Safeguarding

The report evaluates “Ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion” as “satisfactory,” noting that positive relationships support children’s wellbeing and that staff provide careful support for those facing barriers.
