Overview: Liskeard Hillfort Primary School is a welcoming and happy school where pupils describe it as a place that treats everyone equally. Teachers help pupils to do their best, and pupils enjoy their learning and playing with their friends. The school has high expectations for pupils' behaviour, and they respond well to the school rules and routines.

Strengths:

• An ambitious curriculum has been designed which carefully considers what pupils need to know and when they need to know it.
• Pupils value the positive relationships they have with staff, and staff and pupils treat one another with respect and kindness.
• The school supports pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well, starting from the youngest children in Reception.
• Pupils display positive attitudes to learning and are kind to one another.

Areas to improve:

• An effective curriculum is not yet fully implemented in some subjects, resulting in pupils not yet gaining the depth of knowledge they should.
• Pupils do not build their knowledge well over time in some subjects, hampering the progress that some pupils make.
