Check the area around this school
60th of 156 primary schools in Bradford we can score, 157 in total — the rest without enough published data. Local and same-phase on purpose: a national table mostly measures who attends.
Its results hold up when the comparison narrows to schools whose pupils have similar backgrounds — 5.7/10 against 3,598 of them, against 5.6/10 nationally. So this is not simply a reflection of who attends. Both figures are results only, without the inspection grade. A lower figure here means a stronger comparison group, not a weaker school.
How this is worked out
| Measure | Percentile | Weight | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Expected standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 70.0 · 65 | 40% | 2.61 |
| Ofsted | 52 | 35% | 1.82 |
| Higher standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 5.0 · 40 | 25% | 1.00 |
Each measure is read as a position among comparable schools, so a school in the middle of the country scores 5. Full method.

What Ofsted said about Low Ash Primary School
Overview
Low Ash Primary School has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection. Pupils are described as happy and safe in a caring environment where relationships are warm and respectful. While the school is aspirational, the vision is not fully realised for all pupils, particularly some with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Strengths
- Reading is a clear priority, with staff confidently teaching phonics using a sequenced programme and providing well-chosen books to develop a love of reading.
- Pupils achieve well in mathematics and other subjects because knowledge is mapped out clearly and lessons build sequentially on prior learning.
- Personal development is well planned, offering pupils opportunities for leadership roles, community involvement, and a wide range of popular clubs.
- Staff are committed and well supported, with governors holding an accurate view of the school’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Areas to improve
- The school must ensure learning activities are better adapted for pupils at an early stage of writing and some pupils with SEND to support independent learning.
- Foundational skills in letter and number formation are not taught to consistent effect, and errors are not consistently addressed by adults.
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
