MILLBANK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Overview

Most pupils make good progress and achieve well by the end of key stage 2, supported by engaging learning experiences and strong staff relationships. The headteacher provides clear leadership, and the school has secured valuable improvements in standards and provision over recent years.

Strengths

• Teachers plan engaging lessons that sustain interest and make beneficial use of partnerships to enrich learning.
• Pupils behave very well, maintain good attendance, and are eager to learn in a calm, efficient atmosphere.
• Staff foster strong working relationships with pupils and deliver worthwhile interventions for those with additional needs.
• Leaders and governors plan effectively for strategic development, with robust systems for monitoring attendance and pupil progress.

Areas to improve

• Improve pupils’ information and communication technology (ICT) skills, as the range of purposes for using ICT across the curriculum is limited.
• Ensure teachers match activities carefully enough to meet the needs of all pupils consistently.
• Monitor the progress and impact of planned improvements more closely.

Safeguarding

The school’s arrangements for safeguarding pupils meet requirements and give no cause for concern.
