• Most learners achieve their qualifications and progress to “supported internships” at local hospitals and catering outlets.
• Learners feel safe and understand how to keep themselves safe in public transport and online environments.

Areas to improve

• Leaders must ensure all curriculum areas, including work placements and functional skills, are “suitably well thought through” and adapted to individual needs.
• Staff require better training in SEND strategies and must set clear targets linked to EHC plans to accurately track progress.
• Leaders need to implement robust quality checks and improve governance to address high staff turnover and oversight gaps.

Safeguarding

The report states that leaders have made “reasonable progress” in safeguarding, noting that while arrangements are effective and staff deal with incidents appropriately, they do not always maintain “detailed enough records” of these actions.
