Strengths:

• Pupils benefit from a broad and ambitious curriculum that has Islamic and fundamental British values at its heart.

• Pupils show respect for their peers and adults, understanding the importance of kindness and tolerance.

• The school has a clear process for identifying pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and makes some effective adaptations in lessons to help them access learning.

• Pupils demonstrate positive behaviour and attitudes to learning, behaving well in lessons and following adults' instructions carefully.

• The school has designed a broad offer for pupils' personal development, with opportunities for them to participate in meaningful experiences and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Areas to improve:

• The school does not have a systematic approach to the teaching of pencil grip, letter and number formation, and handwriting, resulting in varying quality of pupils' written work.

• Staff do not consistently use formative assessment well, meaning that some pupils complete tasks that are not precisely matched to their needs or make the same mistakes repeatedly.
