Strengths

• Pupils demonstrate “inclusive attitudes” and understand a range of cultures and traditions.
• Teachers in mathematics and English use accurate assessments to identify learning needs and provide targeted support.
• Behaviour is excellent, with “low-level disruption” being extremely rare and dealt with effectively.
• The curriculum in Reception provides a “secure understanding” of early literacy and mathematics, preparing children for Year 1.

Areas to improve

• The school must ensure all staff have the knowledge to support the “weakest readers” who are not yet secure in their knowledge of sounds.
