Rida Boys High School

Overview

The report describes a school that has established a "positive culture in which pupils can flourish" and now meets all independent school standards. It highlights an "ambitious curriculum" and exceptional personal development, noting that the school has successfully addressed concerns from its previous inadequate inspection.

Strengths

• Pupils demonstrate "positive attitudes to their learning" and maintain high standards of behaviour in a "calm and orderly" environment.
• The personal development programme is praised as "exceptional," with pupils developing deep faith understanding and learning about equality, diversity, and safety.
• Staff workload is manageable, and the proprietor body shows "considerable commitment" to developing the school.
• Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities access the same curriculum and receive targeted support to "achieve well from their individual starting points."

Areas to improve

• Teachers must check pupils’ understanding with "sufficient rigour" to ensure essential knowledge is secured before moving on to new learning.
• The school should broaden its "limited range of extra-curricular activities" to provide a diverse offer that motivates pupils to develop their talents.
