Rosebank School

Overview

Rosebank School continues to be a good school, where pupils enjoy attending and feel safe. Leaders maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement, ensuring staff cater well for the individual needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Strengths

• Pupils are happy, feel safe, and develop essential life skills and independence from their first day in Reception.
• The curriculum is "well organised and suitably ambitious," effectively building on prior knowledge and supporting emotional management.
• Staff skilfully manage behaviour, dealing quickly with any incidents that could be perceived as bullying.
• The speech and language therapy team provides accurate assessments and advice that aids pupils’ communication skills.
• Parents and carers think highly of the school, valuing the staff’s efforts to support the whole family.

Areas to improve

• In a small number of subjects, the work set for pupils does not always deepen their learning sufficiently, meaning some do not acquire the depth of knowledge they could. Leaders should ensure teachers are well supported to design learning that enables pupils to achieve all that they should in these subjects.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective, with robust processes for identifying at-risk pupils and ensuring staff know how to report concerns and take timely action.
