• A "love of stories and books permeates the school," with teachers using songs, rhymes, and illustrated books to engage pupils, while older students enthusiastically discuss a wide range of genres.

Areas to improve

• Leaders have not yet checked how well the new reading curriculum helps pupils learn what they need to know; they must gather this information to shape future learning appropriately.
