Check the area around this school
9th of 47 primary schools in Halton we can score, 49 in total — the rest without enough published data. Local and same-phase on purpose: a national table mostly measures who attends.
Narrow the comparison to schools whose pupils have similar backgrounds and it does better still — 8.6/10 against 2,826 of them, against 7.7/10 nationally. Both figures are results only, without the inspection grade. A lower figure here means a stronger comparison group, not a weaker school.
How this is worked out
| Measure | Percentile | Weight | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|

| Ofsted | 52 | 35% | 1.82 |
| Higher standard (RWM) 2024/25 | 8.0 · 57 | 25% | 1.43 |
Each measure is read as a position among comparable schools, so a school in the middle of the country scores 5. Full method.

What Ofsted said about St Clement's Catholic Primary School
Overview
St Clement’s Catholic Primary School has “taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection.” Pupils “feel safe and happy” in a “nurturing environment” where they achieve well across subjects and behave respectfully. The school fosters curiosity and confidence through an ambitious curriculum and a wide range of extracurricular activities, including innovative use of virtual reality.
Strengths
- Pupils thrive in a supportive atmosphere where staff “take time to get to know pupils and their families well.”
- The curriculum is “ambitious and well designed,” with clear steps to build knowledge from Reception upwards.
- Reading is prioritised effectively; staff are “swift to spot any pupils who may be falling behind” in phonics and help them catch up quickly.
- Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are included well, studying the same broad range of subjects as their classmates with “useful adaptations.”
- Personal development is effective, with pupils gaining resilience and confidence through outdoor activities, sports, and public performances.
Areas to improve
- The school must ensure that “gaps in pupils’ knowledge” resulting from previous weaker curriculums are “spotted and addressed” so older pupils have secure foundations for new learning.
- Staff need to apply systems for dealing with “occasional silliness” consistently, as current approaches are not agreed or applied fairly by all staff.
Safeguarding
The report states that “the arrangements for safeguarding are effective.”
