• The provision for reading is “strong,” with adults providing specific help to improve accuracy and fluency, resulting in most pupils enjoying reading at an age-appropriate level.
• Pupils are “very well prepared for their next steps” through effective advice on education and career paths, alongside a rich extra-curricular offer including sporting and creative clubs.
• Pastoral care is “very strong,” with staff dealing with pupil worries “quickly and effectively” and parents being complimentary about the support received.
• Staff receive timely training to ensure pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive “swift and effective support.”

Areas to improve

• The school should ensure that the small number of pupils who struggle to meet high behaviour expectations are supported to do so and “effectively helped to catch up on missed learning” resulting from suspensions.
