The Limes Nursery School

Overview

The Limes Nursery School continues to be a good school, described as a "lovely, calm place to learn" that is "full of fun and laughter." Relationships between staff, children, and families are highlighted as a "real strength," with everyone feeling "included and valued."

Strengths

• Staff skilfully support children in managing emotions, sharing, and playing together, helping them feel "secure and confident."
• The curriculum is "relevant and interesting," based on "rich core experiences" such as baking and gardening, which helps children "flourish."
• There is a "strong focus on extending vocabulary" through high-quality books, rhymes, and stories, fostering a love of language.
• Staff use "focused individual observations" to tailor support for each child, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
• The "whole-school community, including the governors, work together" effectively, and staff appreciate the support they receive from leaders.

Areas to improve

• Leaders must ensure all staff can support children with "early phonics," as some currently lack the necessary knowledge to help ready learners develop early reading skills.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective, with a "strong culture of safeguarding" where staff receive appropriate training and work closely with agencies to keep children safe.
