Overview: The school does not meet all of the independent school standards that were checked during this inspection. The school has made some progress in meeting some of the standards in part 1, particularly the extent to which the curriculum meets the ages, aptitudes and needs of pupils, including those with SEND and teachers' understanding of curriculum content.

Strengths:

• The proprietor has oversight of the quality of education that the school provides.
• The proprietor is clear about the steps that leaders have taken to improve the curriculum and teachers' competence to deliver it effectively.
• The school has a suitable safeguarding policy that takes into account statutory guidance.

Areas to improve:

• The school has not implemented the intended curriculum and the school's arrangements to assess pupils' progress through the curriculum.
• The school's assessment framework to assess pupils' work regularly and to use assessment information to shape teaching is not implemented consistently.
• The school's teaching does not consistently demonstrate that a framework is in place to assess pupils' work regularly and thoroughly and use information from that assessment to plan teaching so that pupils can progress.

Safeguarding: The school has a suitable safeguarding policy that takes into account statutory guidance, and staff have the training they need to identify pupils who may be at risk of harm.
