Winton Primary School

Overview

Inspectors found that Winton Primary School is “led ably by senior leaders,” fostering a strong sense of community where staff, children, and families work together as the “‘Winton family’.” This collaborative approach promotes “positive and respectful relationships,” resulting in children who “enjoy school, behave well and engage positively in their learning.” The report confirms the school has the capacity to continue improving without further inspection visits.

Strengths

• The school cultivates an environment where “children enjoy school, behave well and engage positively in their learning” through strong community bonds.
• Staff have created “inclusive learning environments that support children who require help with their learning,” enabling them to “make good progress and achieve well.”
• Professional practice is enhanced through “strong professional partnerships and collaboration as a team,” which is actively “improving children’s experiences.”

Areas to improve

• The school must “continue to strengthen the use of assessment information to plan learning which is consistently at the right level of difficulty for all children.”
• Leaders should “continue to raise attainment and achievement for children across the school” by “evidencing more clearly the impact support for individuals and groups has on their progress and attainment.”

Safeguarding

The report does not contain specific commentary on safeguarding arrangements, noting instead that the Early Years Class was inspected separately by the Care Inspectorate.
