How places are allocated in Sefton
Primary schools: Catchment-area mechanism exists in policy framework, but explicitly applies to only 'a small number' of the 33 LA-run schools — most Sefton schools have no catchment at all. (source)
Most schools use the local authority's default scheme rather than a school-specific catchment map — see each school's page for its own designated/catchment area where one is published.
Southport straddles a council boundary: the scheme above is Sefton's, and Lancashire also has schools here, applying under its own.
