Beis Rochel Mcr Girls school ltd

Overview

This progress monitoring inspection found that the school “does not meet all of the independent school standards that were checked.” While leaders have taken “appropriate action to address some of the weaknesses” identified in the previous inspection, particularly regarding curriculum development and early years provision, significant shortcomings remain. Consequently, previously unmet standards in leadership, education quality, and pupil development persist.

Strengths

• Safeguarding is “effective,” with staff trained to identify risks and concerns reported “in a timely manner.”
• Teaching has improved in many subjects, with staff now using assessment information to “revisit lessons if pupils have not learned the essential knowledge.”
• The early years curriculum is better defined, and “transition between early years and Year 1 is much improved.”
• Pupils are taught to have “mutual respect for their own and other cultures, faiths and beliefs.”

Areas to improve

• The curriculum for PSHE and relationships and sex education “does not include all of the statutory requirements,” such as learning about different kinds of families or puberty.
• Curriculums for technological and aesthetic and creative education “lack precision in identifying the knowledge and skills that pupils should acquire.”
• In the early years, children do not learn phonics in a “systematic way,” which “hinders their communication, language and literacy skills in English.”

Safeguarding

The report states that safeguarding is “effective,” noting that “pupils were safe and happy” and that leaders take “appropriate action in response to any safeguarding concerns.”
