Overview: Pupils rise to the high expectations set for them and achieve well, with excellent behaviour making the school a calm, welcoming and safe place to learn. Pupils work hard and want to do well, listening carefully in lessons and trying their best.

Strengths:

• Pupils are taught to read accurately and fluently, with the school's phonics programme delivered effectively.
• The school provides pupils with appropriate reading books, shared with parents and carers to help pupils read well.
• Pupils respond extremely well to the school's high expectations, with everyone clear about their part in helping the school feel calm, orderly and a place to learn and achieve without disruption.
• The school works in close partnership with parents, with parents extremely pleased with all aspects of the school's work.

Areas to improve:

• In some of the foundation subjects, the curriculum plans are new and now need to be embedded, with the school needing to continue to embed the curriculum in these subjects and develop and implement approaches to check pupils' knowledge and understanding.
