Strengths:

• Pupils feel safe and supported, with effective mechanisms in place to identify and support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
• The curriculum is designed to help pupils learn about a range of religions and faiths, as well as different types of families and relationships.
• Pupils develop a love of reading, with a systematic approach to reading in place and staff well-trained to implement the agreed phonics programme.
• Pupils are empowered to develop their leadership skills, taking on different roles and responsibilities.
• The school has a strong focus on personal development, with pupils developing their interests and talents through a range of activities.

Areas to improve:

• In some subjects, the concepts pupils need to learn have not been clearly identified, leading to teachers not consistently focusing on the most important knowledge that pupils need to secure.
• Leaders should ensure they identify the component knowledge they expect pupils to learn across the curriculum, to better enable staff to help pupils develop a deep body of knowledge in different subjects.

Safeguarding: The arrangements for safeguarding are effective, with robust and rigorous procedures in place, and all staff well-trained in knowing what and how to report concerns.
