GREENWAY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Overview

Greenway Primary School is described as a "very warm and welcoming school" where the "ethos of care and support permeates all it does." Pupils are generally happy, with "good" standards of behaviour and strong working relationships with staff. However, the report highlights that frequent absence and lateness cause many pupils to miss important learning time.

Strengths

• Pupils make "solid progress from their varied starting points" and benefit from staff who "know them very well."
• The school places a "strong emphasis on equality and inclusion," ensuring pupils with additional learning needs feel safe and keen to learn.
• Pupils learn about their rights and fairness, and many benefit from a "wide range of after school clubs."
• Nearly all pupils are "happy and proud to attend" the school, supported by staff who prioritise pupil well-being.

Areas to improve

• Leaders must "sharpen monitoring and evaluation processes to focus on improving pupil outcomes."
• Teachers need to "strengthen teachers’ feedback and opportunities for pupils to reflect on their work so that they know what to do to improve."
• Teaching must "challenge all pupils, including the more able, to develop independence in learning," addressing issues where excessive support hinders resilience.

Safeguarding

The report states that "pupils feel safe" and that staff work hard to ensure "pupil well-being is good."
