Holy Family Primary School

Overview

This report details a Sustaining Improvement Inspection conducted in May 2017, noting that the school was previously evaluated as "outstanding" in 2014. Due to industrial action involving "Action Short of Strike," the school informed ETI that teachers would not co-operate with inspectors, significantly limiting the inspection's scope. Consequently, the report states that ETI is "unable to assure parents/carers... of the quality of education being provided for the children."

Strengths

• The report confirms that safeguarding arrangements "reflect the guidance issued by the relevant Departments."
• A group of year six children reported that they "feel safe and secure in school."
• Pupils indicated they "know who to go to if they have any concerns."

Areas to improve

• The report states that ETI was "unable to evaluate... the quality of learning and teaching within the classrooms" due to non-co-operation.
• Inspectors could not assess "the extent to which the school is capable of demonstrating its capacity to bring about improvement through self-evaluation and effective school planning."
• The report notes that "lines of inquiry were not selected by the school from the development plan priorities."

Safeguarding

The report confirms that safeguarding arrangements align with departmental guidance and that pupils feel safe and know who to approach with concerns.
