Strengths

• Year 7 children “read confidently and with interest” and spoke enthusiastically about their reading strategies and preferences.
• Year 6 pupils discussed their learning “enthusiastically,” highlighting enjoyment of activities within the shared education partnership.
• Children reported feeling safe and were aware of procedures regarding their safety and well-being.
• The school development plan is underpinned by “wide consultation with all stakeholders.”
• Governors reported that link governors have “strengthened their role in the school improvement process.”

Areas to improve

• The employing authority, governors, and staff must plan for the “sustainability of the school provision and school budget.”
• A risk assessment is needed regarding “access to and within the site.”
• There is currently “no wheelchair access to the main school building.”

Safeguarding

The report states that safeguarding arrangements “reflect broadly the guidance from the Department of Education,” though the ETI was unable to fully evaluate their outworking due to the industrial action.
