Overview: OMG Education is an independent day school that meets all of the independent school standards checked during this inspection. The school has made rapid improvements following a recent period of change in leadership, with a new headteacher and a restructured leadership team.

Strengths:

• Pupils study a curriculum that is ambitious and planned to meet their needs.
• Leaders have ensured that appropriate curriculum schemes of work are in place and that staff have access to the resources they need to teach them effectively.
• Teaching staff have the subject expertise to adapt what they are teaching to meet pupils' needs.
• Pupils typically make secure progress from their starting points.
• The school has clear processes for staff to raise concerns about pupils' welfare.
• The safeguarding policy has been recently updated and is readily available.
• Pupils behave well at the school, with staff understanding their needs and helping them to manage their emotions.

Areas to improve:

• There is some further work to do to ensure the breadth of the curriculum and that the sequencing of topics is consistently well thought out.
• In recent months, procedures around attendance have not been as robust as they should be, although recent changes have improved this.

Safeguarding: The school has a well-trained team that manages concerns raised about pupils' safety, and timely action is taken to support any pupils at risk of harm. Leaders engage the help of external professionals quickly when needed, and all staff are highly vigilant to the signs that a pupil may be experiencing harm.
