Saints & Scholars Integrated Primary School

Overview

The inspection was conducted during industrial action where staff did not cooperate with inspectors. Consequently, the ETI states it is “unable to assure parents/carers... of the quality of education being provided for the children.” The report notes the school is a “high priority for future inspection with no further notice.”

Strengths

• Parental questionnaire respondents agreed they are “happy with the progress their children are making.”
• Parents endorsed the “provision for the children’s enjoyable learning experiences” and “effective personal development programmes.”
• Staff questionnaire responses endorsed the “effectiveness of the school leadership” and the “positive ethos.”
• Year 7 children were “positive about their learning experiences” and all know who to approach for help.
• Year 6 children reported they “generally feel safe in school” and know what to do regarding safety concerns.

Areas to improve

• The school must ensure the updated safeguarding policy and reporting arrangements are “shared with all the parents.”
• The playground risk assessment must be reviewed to address concerns raised by children about “designated areas for play.”

Safeguarding

The report states that safeguarding arrangements “reflect broadly the guidance from the Department of Education,” though the ETI was “unable to evaluate fully the outworking of the arrangements” due to the industrial action.
