This sustaining improvement inspection was significantly limited because teaching staff did not cooperate with inspectors due to industrial action. Consequently, the ETI could not fully evaluate the quality of education or assure parents of the standard of provision. The report notes that the school is now a high priority for future inspection with no further notice.

Strengths

• Year 6 pupils spoke "very positively about all aspects of school life" and highlighted their enjoyment of activities such as "taster golf sessions" and the "daily mile".
• Children appreciate the "range of after-school activities offered," including camogie, hurling, football, coding, and Spanish.
• There are opportunities for pupils to develop leadership skills through roles in the "Eco-committee" and as "class librarians".

Areas to improve

• The employing authority, governors, and staff must plan for the "sustainability of the school provision and school budget" to address current and future needs.
• The school needs to "construct and consult on a Managing Critical Incidents Policy".
• The school must "review the procedure for completing risk assessments".

Safeguarding

The school provided evidence that safeguarding arrangements "reflect broadly the guidance from the Department of Education," although the ETI was unable to fully evaluate their outworking due to the industrial action.
