St Patrick's Primary School

Overview

This monitoring inspection was conducted during industrial action involving "action short of strike," resulting in non-cooperation from the principal and teachers. Consequently, the ETI was unable to evaluate the quality of education, learning outcomes, or the school’s development planning. The report concludes that the inspectorate cannot assure stakeholders of the quality of education provided due to this lack of cooperation.

Strengths

• The report identifies no strengths, as "no key findings can be reported" due to the non-participation of staff.
• During a follow-up visit, evidence showed that safeguarding arrangements "reflect broadly the guidance issued by the relevant Departments."
• Year 6 pupils reported that they "feel safe in school" and know who to contact regarding safety concerns.

Areas to improve

• The school must address the lack of cooperation that prevented the evaluation of "action to promote improvement and its impact on learning and teaching."
• The school is designated as a "high priority for future inspection with no further notice" to ensure accountability.
• The ETI requires full cooperation to evaluate the "outworking of the arrangements for safeguarding" effectively.

Safeguarding

While initial evidence of satisfactory arrangements was not provided during the main inspection, a follow-up visit confirmed that arrangements "reflect broadly the guidance issued by the relevant Departments" and that pupils feel safe.
