Stillness Junior School has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection. Pupils enjoy attending the school, where they feel safe and behave well in calm, purposeful classrooms. Leaders have designed an ambitious curriculum that supports pupils in building their understanding cumulatively over time in most subjects.
Strengths
- Pupils are happy and engaged, enjoying experiences such as termly ‘curriculum days’ where they dress up to learn about topics.
- Teachers have secure subject knowledge and routinely check pupils’ understanding, swiftly correcting misconceptions to help pupils recall prior learning successfully.
