Tinto Primary School

Overview

The inspection team found that Tinto Primary School provides a “respectful, supportive and inclusive learning environment” underpinned by strong school values. While the school demonstrates “good” performance in raising attainment and achievement, learning, teaching and assessment were evaluated as “satisfactory.” The report confirms the school has the capacity to continue improving without further inspection visits.

Strengths

• “Positive relationships between staff and children” create an inclusive environment that “celebrates everyone as individuals.”
• Children receive a “high level of support” to make progress, with “focussed interventions” leading to improved attainment in literacy and numeracy.
• Staff and partners actively work to “reduce the cost of the school day” and address barriers to learning for families.

Areas to improve

• Improve and enrich learning for early-level children by increasing the focus on “play-based learning” to apply skills to real-life situations.
• Ensure all learning activities are delivered at a “brisker pace” and at the “right level of difficulty” for all children.
• Further develop opportunities for wider achievement, ensuring both participation and skills are tracked to support “skills for life and learning.”

Safeguarding

The report does not explicitly detail safeguarding arrangements, though it notes the creation of a “supportive and inclusive learning environment” and efforts to address barriers to learning.
