Overview

Strengths

• The curriculum is "highly ambitious and well sequenced," ensuring children build "secure foundation knowledge in mathematics and phonics" in Nursery and Reception.
• Staff provide effective support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring all pupils, including disadvantaged ones, "achieve well."
• Assessment in reading is used effectively, with staff checking phonics knowledge daily to quickly identify and resolve gaps.

Areas to improve

• The school must ensure pedagogical approaches are consistently implemented across the entire curriculum, as some lessons do not yet help pupils learn as much as they could.
