Telford and Wrekin entrance test format
Both Telford and Wrekin grammar schools (Haberdashers' Adams and Newport Girls' High School) use the West Midlands Grammar Schools Entrance Test — the same shared GL Assessment test as the Birmingham and Walsall grammars: Two multiple-choice papers of about 50 minutes each (answers on separate electronically-marked sheets), covering English comprehension, verbal reasoning, mathematics, and non-verbal/spatial reasoning. Published weighting: 50% English/verbal reasoning, 25% non-verbal reasoning, 25% mathematics. Scores are age-standardised.
