Overview

Strengths

• Early years provision is ‘Outstanding’, with children getting off to a ‘flying start’ and developing ‘highly positive attitudes towards learning’.
• Staff deliver phonics with ‘precision’, ensuring pupils quickly learn to read with fluency and develop a ‘deep love for reading’.
• Personal development is ‘Outstanding’, with pupils learning to recognise emotions, seek help, and engage in leadership roles such as being a ‘cloakroom monitor’.
• The curriculum is ‘broad and ambitious’, allowing pupils to apply their secure knowledge of number and calculation across subjects.
• Parents are ‘unanimous in their praise’, describing the school as a place where pupils are ‘valued and supported’.

Areas to improve

• Occasionally, tasks and activities ‘do not take fully into account their starting points’, meaning some pupils ‘do not learn as well as they could’. The school should ensure staff provide activities that ‘reflects their needs’.
