Holy Family Primary School

Overview

The inspection was conducted during industrial action involving ‘action short of strike’, resulting in non-cooperation from teaching staff. Consequently, the ETI states it is ‘unable to assure parents/carers... of the quality of education being provided for the children’. The report explicitly notes that no performance levels are available for outcomes, provision, leadership, or the nursery unit due to this lack of cooperation.

Strengths

• Parents and support staff reported ‘very high levels of satisfaction’ with the school’s mission and work.
• Respondents highlighted how hard teachers work to ‘nurture their children’s talents and abilities’.
• Governors were praised for using their ‘collective experience and expertise to support the school’ and carrying out an ‘important challenge function’.
• Year 6 children reported that they are ‘happy in school’ and know what to do if they have concerns about their well-being.

Areas to improve

• The report does not identify specific areas for improvement, as the ETI was ‘unable to evaluate’ learning outcomes, the quality of provision, and leadership effectiveness.
• The school must address the impact of staff non-cooperation, which prevented the inspection from assessing ‘the outworking of the arrangements for safeguarding’ and other key educational aspects.

Safeguarding

The school provided evidence that safeguarding arrangements ‘reflect broadly the guidance from the Department of Education’, but the ETI was ‘unable to evaluate fully the outworking of the arrangements’ due to the industrial action.
